Below is a list of all the support groups that we recommend, and despite some of them being based outside of Canada, many are open resources still. These supports are also, mostly virtual, and will connect you with the broader Lipodystrophy community, and hopefully disrupt the isolation many of us feel with rare diseases. If you know of any support groups that we have not been listed below, please connect with us and let us know!
Lipodystrophy Canada is the only Canadian-led Facebook support group for lipodystrophy members and their caregiver with updated education, research, and support networks.
Support Groups
Living with Lipodystrophy (Global)
This Facebook support group is for people with any form of Lipodystrophy, and is a great resrouce for newly diagnosed members who can be very overwhelmed at the beginning of their journey.
Lipodystrophy United is a USA-led Facebook support group for individuals and caregivers affected by Lipodystrophy. There are lots of Canadian community members in this group, along with a variety of relevant supports.
